Giving Thanks To God For Everything
Thanking God for everything is empowering. An attitude of gratitude keeps one grounded in a very positive way. One is in the thought pattern and state of having, not lacking. One mindset is being filled with the spirit of the abundance of everything in one’s life. So giving thanks to God for everything empowers oneself.
“I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.” Psalm 9:1
- Every blessing possible is being thought of and then giving thanks to God for everything.
- Our body, mind, spirit, everything physical, mental, and spiritual in our lives.
- The air we breathe, the ground we walk upon, the earth, the stars, day and night.
- Our family, our friends, our neighbors, our coworkers.
- Our work or job, whatever we do, the skills we have acquired.
- The road we travel on, the vehicles we use, whether private or public transportation.
- The businesses, companies that provide products and services we use.

Every act that we can do, we could give thanks to God. For there are others who are incapacitated and cannot perform some simple tasks in life that we can. So thank God for everything possible and everybody in our lives, who matters to us in one way or another, we can do.

The Blessings of Thanksgiving
If we were to list everything and everybody in our lives that in some way affect us, we will be amazed at the number of blessings we have in our lives, even on a daily basis. For, instance, as I write this, I am listening to a Christian radio station to keep my mind inspired and empowered with the Word of God. I am thankful for this radio station and all the people involved in providing this service to me and countless others. It is mind-boggling when we think of all who inspire and empower us with their service without thinking of how many people are being affected by what they do. It is something for which to give thanks to God. For God is the great Provider. I am truly grateful for everybody and everything in my life each second of my life. It is a blessing to be part of creation and this ongoing creative process – every minute bit that makes up our living world. We are indeed part of this stupendous, overwhelming creation whether we realize it or not. I am always thanking God for everything.
The body we possess is made up of millions of parts consisting of cells, bacteria, tissues of blood, hair, and skin. And each bodily particle is a wonder to behold. Giving thanks to God for everything when taken into consideration of all we should be thankful for seems only practical at first instance. However, the extent of all that we should be thankful for as we start to think of the magnitude of what we possess grows into an awesome experience.
Thank God for the Little Things
If one was to list all we own in materials things, from the tiniest of things like pins, pens, toothbrush, toothpaste, knives, spoons, forks, cups, plates, bowls, drinking glasses, and then start to list bigger things, like our computer, chairs, desks, tables, we get the idea of the enormity of our possessions, big and small.
Importance of Giving Thanks to God
The fact is, we like to focus on what we do not have and yearn for, to the point of despondency, and ultimately sickness of some sort or another. Our bodies are not optimal in times like these because we put our being in a state of disharmony or stress. And that is certainly not good for our overall health and well-being. But when we focus and give thanks to God for all that we should be thankful for, the whole rhythm of the mind, body and spirit is vibrating at a frequency of abundance, contentment and blessedness. It is empowering!
The Power of Giving Thanks
In such a wonderful state of giving thanks to God for everything, we are in a vibration of not only abundance but of joy. We are not lacking, we’re not thinking of what we do not have, and all the mind and bodily ills that go with this kind of thought pattern. We are focused on the blissfulness of counting as joy all that we are privileged as beings to have. We are reminded or brought to our senses of our inherent power. The bible shares that we ask in prayer and believe in receiving, and giving thanks for that which we ask. And giving thanks to God for everything is showing that somehow or the other we have been doing that.
And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. Matthew 21:22
Importance of Thanksgiving in the Bible
So giving thanks to God for everything includes all that we have in our possession already. And all that for which we are asking God. We are giving thanks to God for what we claim in spirit, which is being manifested in the physical.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
By faith, we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that the things which are seen were not made of things that are visible. Hebrews 11:3
Now there are those of us who say we should not use God. And we should not ask God for things, materially or otherwise. Well, why did His Word say ask and you shall receive. Ask, seek and knock.
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7
For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:8
So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Luke 11:9
For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Luke 11:10
We do need material things on this earth to live a comfortable life as we are also physical beings.
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 2
What we ask God for can be a matter of concern. Are we asking for our needs met or wants? If we become too materialistic with our living, therein lies the issue.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, 1 Timothy 6:10
The Power of Thanksgiving to God
Our day-to-day living requires food, clothing and shelter, basic necessities for living on this earth among our fellow beings, particularly in a society such as this one in which we live. So, it is expected of us to at least strive for these things to make our lives comfortable and happy. Our society is further enriched by those of us sharing our gifts, our skills, our talents, our resources, our good-nature, our possessions with one another. Also with our job, work or service, we create for ourselves the ability to buy things for our use.
Giving thanks to God for everything at first seems cliché. However, on further reflection, we start to realize all that is involved with such a continuous mindset of thanksgiving. Knowing how we are so overwhelmingly blessed when giving thanks to God for our overflowing abundance of all we have and possess, we also develop the peace of mind. Peace of mind because we live a well-provided life. We are enriched by our thanksgiving exercise. If our minds and hearts are at peace, and joyous, we are resonating at a frequency of abundance. And, since like attracts like, therefore we can attract more of the same in our lives. The power of the vibrating universe can operate in our lives with the divine principle of giving thanks to God for everything. We can use the thanksgiving activity for our own benefit and for the benefit of others so we can live more contented, peaceful and joyful lives.
This simple exercise of giving thanks to God for everything may be thought of, as not effective, because of its simplicity. But we can try this daily routine of giving thanks to God for everything to see if it helps us in any way.
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Living a Life of Gratitude
So should we pray continually, giving thanks to God for everything? If it somehow ensures we are in harmony with God’s loving law of abundance living as He is the Great Provider, the Source of all good things. Just a simple suggestion. If it can be a continual thankfulness regimen that can provide us some divine solace as prayer does. It can be refreshing with this idea of thinking. Are we being supplied with a tool for living in our lives and it simply starts and ends with our words of giving thanks to God for everything?
Now, although this may be a simple thing to do, the real part of it, is in applying it in our daily lives. Just by developing a daily habit of giving thanks to God for everything as we go about our day, giving thanks to God.
There are times when we may be beset by pain or illness, we obviously are not giving thanks to God for those things. What we are giving thanks to God for, is healing in our bodies. But this healing starts in our minds first and flows into our bodies with healing blessings from God. We therefore can give thanks to God for Divine healing, which is part of everything in our lives.
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 2
Remember this verse I shared before? Well, it says that our body is just as important as our soul.
There are many verses in the Bible about thanking God and about thanksgiving. From all these verses, we can find those that provide us some comfort or solace for what we may be going through. If these inspired words live within us if, by our constant use of this scripture, it can become manifested in our deeds as fruits that we produce. We can become more empowered as we try to overcome whatever obstacles we may face. If in our thinking we could hold on to this idea that our thoughts are powerful.
Thanking God for Everything
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
It seems our every word has significance, and our constant thought patterns can create our reality. If we think lack, we are in a state of disharmony with what we need in our lives, but if we think thankfulness we are in a state of one with what we are giving thanks for. Is such abundance thinking what is thanksgiving? It can be a prayer, a daily way of living for us to create a better life for us all. If we desire peace, we can give thanks to God for peace. If we desire harmony, we can give thanks to God for living in harmony with others.
Although we see things in life as being concerns, we can give thanks to God for solutions and not waste our thoughts only thinking of the problem. Once we can identify the problem, to fix it starts in our minds. And then that involves putting to work our thanksgiving mindset. It can be a powerful means, because it comes from Almighty God. If more of us can use this giving thanks to God for everything, the more vibrations of abundance, harmony, health, and well-being, our entire universe can be vibrating at, for we are in the process of doing the work of being part of the solution. And as we pray with our thankfulness to God, ways and means can turn up as if ‘from nowhere’ to take care of the problem or situation. I personally usually call things ‘situations’ instead of ‘problems’. For it says in the bible how we term something, is what it is to us.
Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Matthew 18:18
In order to make giving thanks to God for everything a habit, we can start to give thanks first thing when we awake in the morning with the breath of life. For each breath is a gift of life. We never know when will be our last breath, so each breath is a celebration of life, for which we can give thanks to God. And if we wish to comprehend what the word ‘continuous’ is really, we can think of each and every breath we partake of, of this air we breathe. Then, maybe this ‘simple’ but precious breath of life can keep us humble. For as yet we do not know how to restart our lives when we stop breathing. And while we still can draw each breath of life, we can breathe a breath of thankfulness to God.
Give Thanks to the Lord for He is Good
After we begin giving thanks to God for each breath of life, we can continue giving thanks for the new day, for our eyes that we see with, all our senses, and our bodily limbs and functions. – this marvelous creation that is our body with all the nerves, neurons, synapses, blood tissues, everything bodily. And then we can continue by giving thanks for the electricity power in our homes, the water supply: All our creature comforts! Each article of clothing we put on, we can give thanks to God for the pair of socks, the pair of pants, the shirt, dress, whatever we attire ourselves with, we can give thanks to God for everything. This can become a habit and can continue during our day. We can give thanks to God for our mode of transport, the roads or infrastructure of the village, town or city in which we live and work. We can continue giving thanks for the building that houses our work place, the devices we use, such as smartphones, tablets, or computers. The people who are our work mates. Our jobs that provide us a source of living so we can afford to buy things for our food, clothing and shelter.
From there we can continue to give thanks to God for our parents and guardians, our teachers, whoever were instrumental in helping us learn how to read, write and comprehend. And as we continue giving thanks to God for all these wonderful people in our lives, here on earth or in heaven, we can give thanks too for the opportunity to use our acquired skills to help those who need our support. For in this cycle of life, we should consider passing on our gifts as we were supported when we were growing up. For by sharing our skills to enrich others, this can eventually benefit everyone as a whole.
If everyday we could start with this process of giving thanks to God for everything, we are now in a routine of thanksgiving. And this is a habitual thing we are now developing in our lives. We are thanking God for our abundance. And we get to realize we are so very blessed. This can be so enlightening, so illuminating. We may be in awe of our life of fulfillment and all the people who are part of it directly or indirectly, like who grows the food we eat, make the clothes we wear, or build the structures in which we live. People we have never met in our lives, we could thank God for their contributions that in any way possible contributes to the life we live.
Message on Thanksgiving to God
And as we proceed to list everything we can give thanks to God for, as they come to mind, we can actually or really give thanks to God for them at the same time. We may realize the magnitude of our exercise. It can continue to be a work in progress. We can also list what to give thanks to God for, that we may desire or need in our lives, for the highest good of all concerned. We can give thanks for the solutions of the concerns in our lives. We can give thanks to God for the people, things, and circumstances that are part of the solution. We should focus on the solution instead of the concern, for we are part of the solution. We are doing something spiritual about it, and the physical manifestation of the solution takes place after. We might be the ones to be part of the solution in some physical way or it may be others who are the answers to our prayers. We could all be part of a peaceful way of bringing about resolution to our concerns.
If we can think by giving thanks to God for everything for resolving our personal concerns, can we also think of resolving family, group, community, and our worldly concerns in the same way? And if as many of us are similarly involved in this approach, it could somehow result in more peace and harmony amongst us. This may be ideal thinking. However, our thoughts are ideas that are being used to help create apps, products or services to aid us as a society. If this concept of giving thanks to God for everything was adopted and it worked to some degree, it could make a difference and can be useful to us as a society. We should use everything at our disposal to try to make our lives easier and peaceful for us all in whatever ways possible. It may be something to consider. We are trying to evolve as a species. And the way we have been trying to ‘resolve’ some of our worldly concerns have been methods that have caused us much pain and suffering. If this can be a more peaceful method, why not? We can give thanks to God for everything possible!
